Hello, there. I am here to talk to you about the Spring Auction. All classes are participating. If you want to help the needy, please donate. Each class has a different theme. I suggest you donate some kind of item, or at least send in the $6.00 donation, which your child’s Teacher will use to purchase items for the basket. It would help a lot if you would donate. If you decide to help, thank you! And if you can’t, or you do not want to, I understand.

Forgot to pack your child’s lunch? Well, at lunchtime, students can buy pretzels or snacks. The school also has a snack machine and a drink machine. Pretzels and drinks are $1.00 each. The snacks are $1.00 or less. So if you forgot to pack your child their lunch, at least remember to give them at least $1.00 to buy a pretzel or something. This also helps the school raise money.

Sometimes, parents wonder what their children do on the computer. Well, at P.S./I.S.180, our computer teachers, Mr.Decarlo and Mr.Moy make sure that the students go on websites that are educational and fun at the same time. Some of those websites are: www.brainbashers.com, www.funbrain.com, freerice.com, and many more. On these websites, students can learn more about math, reading, science, social studies, and more. But at the same time, the students are enjoying the games. So don’t worry, parents, your kids can learn while playing games!

Hello. Please continue to read this if you want to help make the Earth more beautiful. You have made the right choice to continue reading. Tell me this: When you look on the floor outside, do you see garbage? Does the air smells horrible? Well, just to let you know, people are littering, smoking, and polluting the air. Don’t you want to help the Earth? Well, you can! How? By using the three R’s. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. When you go grocery shopping, use reusable cloth bags. Instead of wasting plastic bags, you can use cloth bags to reuse. Also, try to throw all your garbage in the trash cans. I can understand if your garbage flies away, but, some people, I don’t know who just throw their garbage on the ground. Now why would you want to do that? STOP LITTERING! You’re making the world dirty. And for all you smokers, try to quit smoking. Smoking causes pollution. You don’t want that, do you? Oh, and by the way, for all you meat lovers and hunters… try not to hunt so much. Why? I’ll tell you why. It’s because meat is not green. Killing animals causes more than one-fifth of the Earth’s pollution. For all you people who are still reading this, please remember the three Rs. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
P.S. Try to stop littering.

You would think that since it’s March the weather would start heating up. Instead its doing the exact opposite. On Monday, March 2nd, 2009 all the kids were surprised to see that school had been canceled due to about a foot of snow. All of the New York City schools were announced closed at 5:40 AM by Mayor Bloomberg. Many parents complained that they should have announced the schools closing sooner and that they didnt have enough time of notice. No one expected this much snow and by noon all the shovels and salt bags were sold out of Lowe’s. Lucky for us we had a day off from school.
