The Best Zelda Game-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
It may be the 13th entry in the series, but there’s no doubt that Twilight Princess is the best game ever made. Why? Because it’s fun, long, addicting, and looks awesome. I give you The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii and Gamecube. You’re probably wondering why this game is so great. And that’s why I’m here to tell you.
Design: There has probably never been an action-adventure game as big as this one. This game has soooo much to do, you wouldn’t believe: the Forest Temple, the City in the Sky, Hyrule Castle, Lakebed Temple, there’s so much in these little disks it’ll make you head spin. The game is pretty much split into 2 parts, the Normal Realm and the Twilight Realm. In the Normal Realm you play as human Link and in the Twilight Realm, you play as a wolf. There are advantages for both forms but overall, neither is better than the other. Eventually though, you have the power to switch between them at will, giving you the advantages of both in one body. This game will keep you entertained for a long time.
Gameplay: Something that’s interesting is the Wii’s functionality came very late in the game’s development when considering it’s mixed almost perfectly with the game. Things like the Slingshot and Gale Boomerang don’t require the Wii Remote but it’s an option if you want it. Performing sword attacks requires shaking the Wii remote, but the sensitivity is so excellent you barely need to wiggle it. The Wii controls make the game a lot more fun for just about anything but there are a few things where a typical control scheme would be better. If the design isn’t enough fun, the Gameplay makes it worthwhile.
Presentation: There’s only one thing to say: this game looks absolutely excellent. The graphics are a breakthrough for the Wii and will give your console a good workout. Even more interesting is Nintendo pulled this game off with limited resources, so that brings the score even higher. One minor issue is the music and places return for prior entries but the audio is generally flat. The legendary Zelda chime when solving a puzzle returns and comes out of the Wii Remote, which is a surprise.
Overall: If you’re new to the Zelda series, here is a good place to start. If you’ve played a Zelda game before you will have a lot of fun with Twilight Princess. If you are a die-heart Zelda fan, this game is a must-buy, no matter how expensive. Get this game!
