From September to June with “Lilly” and I.S.180
On the night of September 1,2008 Lilly’s head was full of worries. The next day she would be going into junior high. When she woke up the next day she was a little worried about going into junior high. The school was huge, wondered how she would be able to find her way around the school. She stayed almost all day in homeroom with her teacher. At lunch they served monzerella sticks, but some kids brought lunch from home. After everyone finished lunch we were allowed to play outside in the schoolyard. After lunch she had an assembly. After that we went back up to homeroom for the rest of the day. Wednesday was the same. Thursday, the first two periods we were in homeroom. At third period we started to go from class to class. Friday was our first full day that we traveled from class to class. The second week of school we started getting a little homework every night. We got our first days of gym, theater, laptops, computer, library, visual arts, and music. At the end of the week, most sixth graders realized that even in a K-8 school, junior high is much different then elementry school.
The second week of school was the first full week of classes. We had our first period of gym, theater, and visual arts. We have the right to talk during passing as long as it does not get to loud. Whichever side your coming from you have to stay on the right side………..
