Well I agree with the article. I think that students should have free cell phones. My friend has a free cellphone that she got in school and it looks just like this one.

I think it is a great idea. However, the DOE must remove the cell phone ban in schools. It’s unfair to say NO to cell phones because they think students use them for the wrong reasons. Most students know how to use a cell phone. Teachers can use it to help teaching. Text messaging can be used to communicate with other students, teachers, and people outside of school. Imagine a teacher does this… Send homework reminders by text, Send private messages like “Pay attention” without the whole class knowing… Give a Pop Quiz using texting… Don’t forget about the video possibilities. If you see a nice photo moment, you can send it to the whole class. You can also watch math audio videos by Techknight all the time! Since there is a GPS and camera, we can track where you have been and use that to create geography lessons and math lessons. The possibilities are endless.

I think that its a great idea to give the kids the phones. I’m not just saying that because I want it I am saying it because we could text our teacher if we need help in the class. We could look on the internet. I think if we need to talk to Mr. Williams we could just text him instead of going up and down the stairs just to find him.

I agree with this article and I think it would be nice if our school would get free cell phones. Also I like this cell phone because you can flip it in two ways and my friend has the same one. It would be good if instead of the teacher telling someone to be quiet they can just text it. I wish our school got the free cell phones!

I do not approve because it takes the kids mind off of school work and school is more important than text messaging. We, all of us kids need to know that just because we got cell phones doesn’t mean that our grades will go higher it might mean the grades just might go lower.
This is my opinion
I do not approve.

I think every school should have a cellphone except the elementary schools. There might be an emergency =P

I think it is a good idea for students to have cellphones in the school but they can’t use it in the school. They can use it outside. School is much more important even if we have high grades. Getting a cell will make our grades lower because it will distract us
That is my opinion.

The link you provided doesn’t do the initiative justice. To see what the real goal of the cell phone initiative is, check out the ad agency that was responsible for it:

Click on “case studies”
Then click on “the million”
You’ll see that this is more than just giving kids cell phones, much, much more.

I agree with TechKnight. I think that the cell phone idea is great because our teachers can help us over the phone by text message. In a way I think it’s bad because it would give us children more of a right to use cell phones in school. I think we should change its error.

I love the cell phone idea because it helps students get higher grades, because they would want to get more minutes.

I think we should have a free cell phone at school. It will be a good idea.

I think students should have cell phone at school because it would help them to learn. They should use it outside of the school not inside because they are going to get in trouble.
