Our Bill of Rights
Ladies and Gentlemen, today in class we discussed the first five amendments to the Constitution. Your assignment was to create a new amendment that is to be followed by all citizens.
Remember to be creative and write it in complete sentences including your new law and why it should be in effect.

My amendment is to give children the right to vote because I know many children around the world interested in politics.

I would make a law saying that no one in this country can buy, sell, or smoke a cigarette. First of all they are unhealthy for your lungs. They are very addictive so it’s very hard to stop. You can get cancer from smoking them. Many people have died from cancer. So, from making this law I think I will be saving many lives. That is why I am banning all cigarettes from my country

My amendment is that no one can use foul language, have fights, bring weapons and threaten others. I say this because this causes fights that will get people involved and someone will get injured and someone maybe can even die.

For the bills of rights, I would like to add a new law. That law is “No gum chewing in all schools”. I choose this law because in my school they said”No gum chewing” but some people sneak and chew the gum when the teachers ask them. They will hide it somewhere in their mouth. Or put the gum on someone’s shirt, pant, hair and some other places. Maybe the students will play with their gum during class.
I think this is a right law to be in the Bills of Rights. The students won’t do these things and they will get to learn more stuff. Chewing gum is good for teeth. But not at school and during class.

If I can make a new law, It will prohibit people from buying weapons. People are going to buy the weapon and use them to hurt somebody else.

My amendment is that no one can wear the color gray. It can’t be worn because the color is dark and not bright. It can’t be seen at all. If you look at it ,you will become either cold or hot. If you do wear it, then you will have warnings and consequences. The first time you get talked to, you get a warning. The second time, is a warning. The last time you get talked to, you get a consequence. The consequence is that you will get suspended.

My amendment to be added to the constitution would be that no soldiers can fight there own people during war time. When they fight against each other, they can’t focus on the war.

My new amendment to be followed by all citizens is, “Do not steal”. I choose this amendment because people do not like when other people steal their personal property. In many states, there have been a lot of robberies. People are getting hurt and the robbers are getting away with it.
If this amendment passes, people will face criminal charges. They will spend time in jail for the crime they committed. In jail they would have to do a lot of hard work. For example, they would have to cook, clean bathrooms and mop floors.

If I could make my own amendment, it would go along the lines of “This law prohibits people from using inappropriate language or any method to start a fight of the highest proportions unless he/she has a valid reason. If no reason is given, then the person may be trialled on”. I think this is a good idea because it deals with something that happens rarely in life but it happens. Still, I admit this is more of a state law than an amendment.

The amendment I would like to put in the Bill of Rights is that no one can wear bright colors. I wouldn’t like bright colors because people who wear it gets judged by people that don’t like what they are wearing. Some people make fun of what some people are wearing and causes them to get their feelings get hurt. I don’t want anyone to feel bad about what they wear.

If I could pick a amendment to be applied, it would be for animals to be allowed in all houses.It’s not fair how certain places don’t allow pets.What are you supposed to do with the pet you have?It will be very convenient for pet owners.
Also I would like to add that all people should have a home. It’s not right for people to live in the street. Shelters are not enough for poor people. People should have free apartments for the homeless. People shouldn’t be denied because of how they dress, look or talk.Everybody is the same and should be treated that way.

If I could make a amendment, it would be that kids should able to tell their mother or father when they wan’t to go to school. Sometimes kids don’t feel like going
to school every day. I don’t feel like going to school sometimes because I feel
tired or I feel sick.

I would make an amendment to play on the computer 1-24 hours a day. I will make that amendment because everyone should play on the computer at least an hour!

In the constitution I would add a rule which states people who come to this country should be let in. They must come here to work and send money to their family. People who come here to work are asked if they have working papers or if they were born here. One person in my family has that problem, but he is a very good worker.If I had a choice, I world try everthing I could to help all people get a job.

One law that I would want to put into the constitution is for everyone to always know that freedom will never die.I said that because every one is always scared of the terrorism that is happening.And so I want everyone to know that freedom will always be on there sides and no one can stop it.Freedom will always be alive and no one should be scared and to always serve your country.

My Bill of Rights law that I would pass is to stop cutting down trees. If people cut down trees we will have no oxygen. If there are no trees, there will be no glue, paper, cotton,and medicine. If there are no trees or oxygen, we will all die.

If I would make a new law it would be ” All kids shall not be harmed or spoke to in rough talk. And all kids shall be treated as royalty.”. I would make this the new law because the adults get to stay up late, drive cars, and travel alone. With my rule, kids will be able to do all those things. There’ll be kids driving all over New York. Kids will be at parties or clubs all night. They’ll be doing all the things they wanted to do. Soon New York will be New Kid.

I would add one more law in the Bill of Rights. My law would be to respect all that deserved it.

I believe that all citizens should be allowed to attend college for free and that they won’t have to pay any taxes while they go to school as long as they keep up a good grade point average.

One amendment that I would like to have is that all citizens especially, the ones that are in school shouldn’t get homework during the summer or any other vacation when they are not going to school. I think it should be like this because, the children should have a rest.They’ve been working hard all year.They should have a break and enjoy their summer.

My amendment is that any one who is from a different state who crosses our border should automatically be turned into a U.S. citizen. People from different states don’t have to take a test to show their loyalty to our country.

A law that I would make is children would have the right to live in a smoke free world. Then cigarettes would be illegal.

My new amendment is to have no junk food . It’s very delicious but very deceiving. It tastes good, but it’s bad for you. We would have a population of overweight and sick people. In addition to that, junk food isn’t good for your brain. I would make another amendment to nominate salmon fish as our national food. That’s all, folks!

Kids should get to play for an hour a day. I think they should play for an hour because they could relax and unwind. Then they can also take their mind off school. After that,they can do studying for a test. Last they can go upstairs to sleep and do good work on the test because they studied.

My amendment will be no arguing. It hurts people’s feelings and sometimes makes the people around them depressed.

My new amendement will be that people around the world can no longer use their cars or any modern technology that pollutes the environment. People can drive cars that run on water only. By this new law I believe that I will help all the population live in better conditions.

My law is to stop cutting down trees. If we cut down trees, we will have less oxygen. If the world has no trees or oxygen, we will all die. Trees provide us with lots of things like glue, paper, cotton, and medicine.

The other day in class we learned about the bill of rights. Some people are just learning them now and becoming citizens of the United States.
